Childhood Mental Health Linked to Birthdate

At first glance this theory might sound odd, but there's some solid research behind it. The idea is that school age children in any given grade are all treated the same, even though they may be as much as 12 months different in age. A child may be performing well for his developmental age, but appear to be behind his older classmates. The labelling that follows can lead to self-esteem issues and psychiatric problems.
