FDA Issues Public Health Advisory on Cautions for Use of Antidepressants in Adults and Children

On March 22, the FDA issued a public health advisory cautioning that patients should be observed carefully when first beginning antidepressant therapy and when making dosage changes. The FDA has been reviewing the issue of whether antidepressants could raise the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in children during the initial stages of treatment.
