Poll: Does Exercise Help?

Friday April 2, 2004
Have you tried exercise to help with your depression? How did it go? Personally, I find myself more able to exercise when I am feeling better in the first place. I just don't have the energy it takes when I am depressed.

I just noticed your post-almost two years old. It’s sad that no one responded. I find exercise helps almost immediately. First, you feel like you’re doing for yourself. Then, after your heart gets pumping you become energized. Understanding the physiology of exercise and depression gives you the head knowledge that it’s helping. I’ve found a number of other things that help.If you’d like to “chat” some more post a note to me.

I wish you well,

Alan

After two years, how are you doing?

Exercise and diet were (other than the BIble) the second and third most important aspects to helping figth depressiona nd panic/anxiety!!! They stimulate more good mood chemicals than any other antidepressant drug on the market…once you notice the difference you get addicted to exercise instead of WORRY
