Antidepressants Do Not Increase Suicide Risk in Adults, Study Finds

Antidepressants do not increase the risk of suicide attempts or death by suicide in adults, according to a study in the January 2006 issue of The American Journal of Psychiatry. Researchers at the Group Health Cooperative in Seattle found that antidepressants reduce suicide risk significantly in the first month of treatment.
