Communication is the most important thing you can do to get the most benefit from your doctor, yet so often the lines of communication break down or are never adequately established. Why?

I find it so difficult to talk about my issues to any doctor. I don’t know how to explain it and feel stupid while trying to. I grew up in a family that never communicated and I just don’t know how to do it.

Plus, I feel like the doctor wont believe my symptoms. I have seen or read about people in far worse shape than I, and I doubt the reality of whether or not I really have any problems at all. Sometimes I think I’m just being lazy and am looking for an excuse for the way I am. The medications haven’t helped me that much and this only reinforces my fears that I’m just lazy and not “sick.”

It’s nearly impossible for me to talk about these problems fully and honestly. I don’t know how to. :( HELP!!!
