"Does Effexor lose its effectiveness after years of use on the same dosage?"--SJS44

SJS44 asks a good question.  Is there a poop out effect seen with Effexor?  If you are using Effexor as your antidepressant, please be sure to post a comment about your experiences.  Let us know how long you've been using it and discuss whether its effectiveness has faded over time or you've had to have a dosage increase in order to get the same effect.  Also, discuss what, if any, strategies have helped you overcome it.

Yes it does, I have been on Effexor for four years now and had to increase my dosage after two years. I strongly recommend seeking therapy whilst using medication to avoid having to increase the dosage to cope with depression and/or anxiety.
