My life has been a roller coaster, up and down I ride.
In between the peaks and valleys, I find nowhere to hide,
They say life is just a lesson - I thought I already learned,
Till another day begins and I realize I've been burned.
There's time for you and him and them and never none for me,
Once again, with blinders on, the Reality I didn't see,
The coaster goes so fast at times and others, slow as hell,
But there's safety and protection Inside that cold, steel shell.
I wear a smile and slowly die inside,
As I continue on this
In between the peaks and valleys, I find nowhere to hide,
They say life is just a lesson - I thought I already learned,
Till another day begins and I realize I've been burned.
There's time for you and him and them and never none for me,
Once again, with blinders on, the Reality I didn't see,
The coaster goes so fast at times and others, slow as hell,
But there's safety and protection Inside that cold, steel shell.
I wear a smile and slowly die inside,
As I continue on this
- roller
- coaster
- ride.

Dar, thanks for submitting this! I felt like this really summed up how I felt for many years.
HOW DID YOU GET INSIDE ME? NOW I KNOW IM NOT ALONE. I JUST WISH I COULD FEEL IT.
I loved this poem… thank you for that beautiful summery of my life…
I have the same issues related to memory loss and loss of concentration, do you know any alternative..
Thankyou for describing how I have felt all my life…
