Member Poetry: "The Ride"

Wednesday June 7, 2006
My life has been a roller coaster, up and down I ride.
In between the peaks and valleys, I find nowhere to hide,
They say life is just a lesson - I thought I already learned,
Till another day begins and I realize I've been burned.
There's time for you and him and them and never none for me,
Once again, with blinders on, the Reality I didn't see,
The coaster goes so fast at times and others, slow as hell,
But there's safety and protection Inside that cold, steel shell.
I wear a smile and slowly die inside,
As I continue on this
    roller
      coaster
        ride.
