1-800-SUICIDE Hotline Set to Shut Down on Saturday August 12

Thursday August 10, 2006
According to a press release issued today by NAMI, the 1-800-SUICIDE hotline is set to go out of service on Saturday, August 12, 2006. There are negotiations going on that may prevent this; but, in the meantime, be aware that there is an alternate 800 number that you can call: 1-800-273-TALK. Calls to this hotline are private and confidential and will connect you with counseling or emergency services in your area.
