Beyond the Butterfly: Middle School Girls Speak OutPlay this trailer

To make this video, 200 girls were given a Sony Hi-8 video camera and instructed to record their thoughts, feelings, discussions and activities for one week. Further interviews were conducted by the producers "eyeball to eyeball", a technique which allows the interviewee to speak to the audience. These clips were edited together along with facts and statistics to create "Beyond the Butterfly".

Review:

The "Beyond the Butterfly" video does an excellent job of interspersing the frank thoughts and feelings of real young women with statistics and facts about the issues that concern today's teens the most. I would recommend for any parent of a teen, especially a teen girl, to watch this video. You can watch either the entire 56 minute video or pick and choose which issues interest you the most.
