Definition:

The desire for sexual activity.

Decreased libido may be due to psychological conditions, such as depression. Certain drugs, including most antipsychotics and antidepressants, will also reduce libido.

Libido originally had a broader meaning. It was coined by Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, to refer to the psychic energy which drives thought processes, perception, imagination, memory, and sexual urges.
