From the time I unpacked the Apollo Brite Lite IV until I had it set up and ready to use took only minutes. Operation is as simple as plug it in, find the best place to put it and flip the switch. The User's Guide recommended using their free Circadian Rhythym Assessment to determine a treatment plan if you are not under a doctor's care so I visited their website. This too was easy to use and within about a minute I had a treatment plan to follow.
When I flipped the switch the first thing I noticed was that the bright light made it a little difficult to see my laptop screen. I adapted to this pretty quickly, however. I did not have any eyestrain or headaches, which can be problem with bright light therapy.
I found Apollo's customer service to be superb. Their website contains a wealth of information and their staff are very helpful. Since the bulbs have to be changed periodically I wanted to see how difficult this would be and was a bit confused about how to remove the front panel. When I emailed customer service for help I received a reply within minutes. Their rep was very friendly and helpful and quickly solved the problem for me.
The Apollo Brite Lite IV meets all the recommendations given by CET with the exception that it cannot be tilted to reduce glare. I didn't find glare to be an issue, however, since I used the light box in a well lit room as recommended in the User's Guide.
All in all I find this to be a quality product and would recommend it.
