depression.guide@about.com

Greetings! My name is Nancy Schimelpfening. Most of the time I go by Nancy S+13. Life's complicated enough, right? My educational background includes a BS degree in Biology and an MS degree in Community Health Education. More importantly, I have a lifetime of experience with depression. I've seen firsthand how devastating this illness can be and how the correct medical intervention can turn mere existence into living.

I hope to create a web site where the depression sufferer can find timely, accurate, and practical information on living with depression. I plan to address questions that general information sites may not adequately cover. For example,

  • How does it feel to be on Prozac, Zoloft, etc.?
  • Will taking antidepressants harm my unborn child?
  • Can anything be done about the sexual dysfunction caused by antidepressants?
  • How do I know if my child has depression?
  • How can I help my loved one cope with suicidal feelings?

Whenever possible, my articles will address actual questions presented to me by readers.
