Jim Carrey Not Writing a Book After All

Don't get your hopes up about reading a depression self-help book from actor-comedian Jim Carrey any time soon. It was just a joke, says his publicist.
Carrey, who has been very open about his battle with depression, has been quoted by numerous news outlets as saying, "I dealt with depression for a while by medicating with Prozac and although it was good for dealing with the problem there and then, I wasn't getting to the bottom of my anger and frustration. I think we have a real problem these days in that everything is treated with a drug. I think there's a whole new way of healing depression that doesn't require drugs--and I'm writing a book about it. Who better than a comedian to talk about depression, right?"
When PageSix.com asked his publicist about the book, however, she was baffled by the news. "There is no deal with a publisher in place and he's not actually writing a book. That is not in the plans for the immediate future."
Even if Jim doesn't have a book in the works, I hope he will follow through with the idea. It would be fascinating to read about the human being behind the funnyman facade.
