Hypersomnia

Definition:

Excessive daytime sleepiness most commonly caused by sleep deprivation or sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea or narcolepsy.

Hypersomnia is a symptom of depression; it may also be associated with restless leg syndrome or drug use. Because the person may fall asleep at inappropriate times, such as while working or driving, it can have serious social and economic consequences.
