At only 6" x 6" Apollo's goLITE is extremely portable. It could easily be placed on your desk at work or go with you on travel. It's programmable and has a timer function so you can program it based upon your particular treatment plan and forget it while you go about your daily routine. Because of its patent-pending use of light in the blue bandwidth of light, it uses less intense light than traditional light boxes and therefore is associatiated with fewer side-effects, such as eyestrain and headaches.
I have been very impressed with the level of customer support available from Apollo. Their website is full of helpful educational materials and offers a free Circadian Rhythym Assessment to help you set up an appropriate treatment plan for your needs. When I contacted their customer support email address I was very pleased to see that I received a reply within minutes from a friendly person who completely answered my questions.
Although Apollo provided me with quite a few journal articles regarding the safety and effectiveness of blue light therapy, I still hold some reservations about recommending this product because of controversy within the medical community regarding its safety. The goLITE is certainly a more elegant, practical alternative to large, clunky lightboxes, but I would add the proviso that you get your physician's input on its safety before making a purchase. For this reason, I have given it 3 stars rather than the 5 stars I would like to give it.
