Giving birth to a child can be overwhelming. In addition to rapidly fluctuating hormones wreaking havoc with your emotions, you are also probably sleep-deprived and unsure of whether you are up to the task of caring for a new baby. While no mother should be ashamed to seek professional help for postpartum depression if she needs it, self-help measures like seeking out support from friends and family and napping while the baby is sleeping can help in milder cases of postpartum depression.

What self-care advice would you offer to new mothers who are struggling to adjust after the birth of a child?
